History of Airlie
Airlie was officially planned and marked out on a map in 1879. This process is called "platting." The community was named after the Earl of Airlie, a noble title from Scotland.
A post office opened in Airlie in 1882. This was an important place for people to send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years, but it closed down in 1934.
