Aishwarya Lekshmi is a talented Indian actress and producer. She was born on September 6, 1991. She mainly acts in movies made in the Malayalam and Tamil languages.

Aishwarya has won several awards for her acting. These include a Filmfare Award South, a Kerala Film Critics Association Award, and three SIIMA Awards. She started her acting journey in 2017 with the Malayalam film Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela. This role helped her win the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. She has since been praised for her roles in many popular films. Some of these include Mayaanadhi (2017), Varathan (2018), and Kaanekkaane (2021). She also starred in the big Tamil epic movies Ponniyin Selvan: I (2022) and Ponniyin Selvan: II (2023). These two films are her highest-earning movies so far. Other notable films include Ammu (2022), Kumari (2022), Gatta Kusthi (2022), and Hello Mummy (2024).

Aishwarya's Early Life and Start in Acting

Aishwarya Lekshmi was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. She went to school at Holy Angel's Convent in Thiruvananthapuram. She also studied at Sacred Heart Convent Girls Higher Secondary School in Angamaly.

She studied medicine and earned her MBBS degree in 2017. She completed her internship at Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences in Ernakulam.

Before becoming an actress, Aishwarya worked as a model starting in 2014. She appeared on the covers of several magazines. She also modeled for various jewelry and clothing brands. Aishwarya has mentioned that she never planned to become an actress. However, she decided to audition for a film and got the part.

Aishwarya's Acting Journey

First Roles and Big Successes (2017-2021)

Aishwarya's first movie was Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela in 2017. She acted alongside popular actor Nivin Pauly in this film. After that, she played a hopeful actress in the romantic thriller Mayaanadhi. This movie was a huge success. Critics said she was the "heart and soul" of the film.

In 2018, she appeared in Varathan with Fahadh Faasil. This movie also did very well at the box office. People praised her performance, saying she had her own powerful moments in the film.

In 2019, Aishwarya starred in three Malayalam movies: Vijay Superum Pournamiyum, Argentina Fans Kaattoorkadavu, and Brother's Day. That same year, she made her debut in Tamil films with Action. In 2021, she was seen in the Tamil film Jagame Thandhiram. She also had two Malayalam releases, Laughing Budha and Kaanekkaane.

Growing Career and New Roles (2022-Present)

The year 2022 was a very busy and important year for Aishwarya. She had nine movies released! Some of her successful films that year included Gargi, Ponniyin Selvan: I, and Gatta Kusthi. She also helped produce Gargi.

Aishwarya made her Telugu film debut in Godse. She also appeared in Captain. In Ponniyin Selvan: I, she played the character of Poonguzhali. This movie became one of the highest-earning Tamil films ever. She received praise for her roles in Archana 31 Not Out, Ammu, and Kumari. In Ammu, she played a victim of domestic violence, and her acting was called one of her best. Her last film of 2022 was Gatta Kusthi, where she played a wrestler.

In 2023, Aishwarya appeared in Christopher and King of Kotha. She also returned as Poonguzhali in Ponniyin Selvan: II, the sequel to the hit movie.

Her first film of 2024 was Pon Ondru Kanden. She then played an educated woman in Hello Mummy, which was a box office success. In 2025, Aishwarya played a doctor in Maaman, which also did well. She also appeared in Thug Life.
