Nivin Pauly (born on October 11, 1984) is a famous Indian actor and producer. He mainly works in Malayalam films, which are movies made in the Malayalam language. Nivin has won many important awards for his acting, including two Kerala State Film Awards and three Filmfare Awards South.
He started his acting journey in 2010 with the movie Malarvaadi Arts Club. A few years later, in 2012, the film Thattathin Marayathu made him a big star. Nivin is known for playing "boy next door" characters, which are often relatable and friendly. Some of his popular films include Premam (2015), Action Hero Biju (2016), and Kayamkulam Kochunni (2018). He also produces movies through his company, Pauly Jr. Pictures.

About Nivin's Early Life
Nivin Pauly was born in Aluva, Kochi, India. His parents, Pauly Bonaventure and Thressiamma Pauly, worked in Switzerland. Nivin grew up in Kerala. He studied Electronics & Communication Engineering at the Federal Institute of Science and Technology and finished in 2006.
After college, he worked as a software engineer at Infosys in Bangalore from 2006 to 2008. But he later left his job to pursue his passion for acting. Nivin now lives in Kochi with his family.
Nivin's Acting Journey
Starting in Movies (2010-2012)
Nivin got his first acting role in Malarvaadi Arts Club after an audition. After that, he appeared in a few other films like The Metro and Sevenes. He also had small appearances in movies like Traffic.
In 2012, Nivin starred in Thattathin Marayathu. This movie was a huge success and made him very popular, especially among young people. He played Vinod, a Hindu boy who falls in love with a Muslim girl named Ayesha. This role helped him become one of the most sought-after actors in the Malayalam film industry.
Becoming a Big Star (2013-2015)
Nivin also started acting in Tamil films. His first Tamil movie was Neram in 2013. In 2014, he played Rameshan in the film 1983. This movie showed his character growing from a schoolboy to an adult. His natural acting won him the Best Actor Award at the Kerala State Film Awards.
Soon after, he starred in the romantic comedy Ohm Shanthi Oshaana. Then came Bangalore Days, a popular movie about friends. Nivin played Krishnan, a software engineer who learns about modern life. In 2015, he appeared in Mili and Oru Vadakkan Selfie.
His film Premam (2015) was a massive hit. It earned a lot of money and became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam movies ever. Nivin's role as George David in Premam was highly praised for its charm and honesty.
Continued Success (2016-2021)

In 2016, Nivin became a producer with his film Action Hero Biju. He played a police officer named Biju Paulose in this movie. The film was well-received and showed the real life of a police officer. He also starred in Jacobinte Swargarajyam, a family drama based on a true story.
Nivin played two different roles in the political drama Sakhavu. He also acted in his first direct Tamil film, Richie. In 2017, he produced and starred in the heartwarming film Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela, which was about cancer.
In 2018, Nivin starred in the big-budget movie Kayamkulam Kochunni. This film was a huge success and helped him join the "100 crore club" (meaning the movie earned over 100 crore rupees). He also played a unique character named Jude in the romantic comedy Hey Jude.
In 2019, Nivin appeared in the action-thriller Mikhael and the romantic comedy Love Action Drama. He also starred in Moothon, a film that was shown at many international film festivals. In 2022, Nivin's fantasy film Mahaveeryar was released. He also starred in the action thriller Padavettu. The trailer for Padavettu was launched at a big football match, which was a first for a film. Later that year, he appeared in the comedy drama Saturday Night.
In 2023, Nivin played Mattanchery Moidu in the film Thuramukham, and his performance was highly praised. He also starred in the action comedy Ramachandra Boss & Co. In 2024, his films Varshangalkku Shesham and Malayalee from India were released.

Nivin in the News
Nivin has been part of the Kerala Strikers team in the Celebrity Cricket League, which is a cricket tournament for actors. He was also chosen as the youth ambassador for the Kerala Blasters, a football team in the Indian Super League.
Helping Others
Nivin is known for his kindness. During the big floods in Kerala in 2018, he visited relief camps in his hometown of Aluva. He helped arrange basic things for people affected by the floods. He also met with the Chief Minister to donate to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.
During the lockdown, he also participated in an "On-Call" campaign. He called and spoke to patients and healthcare workers, thanking them for their hard work.
Nivin's Family Life
Nivin Pauly married his college sweetheart, Rinna Joy, on August 28, 2010. They studied together at the Federal Institute of Science and Technology. They have a son and a daughter.
