Sivakarthikeyan Doss (born on February 17, 1985), often called SK, is a famous Indian actor. He is also a singer, lyricist, film producer, and TV host. He mainly works in Tamil cinema, which means movies made in the Tamil language. In 2021, he received the Kalaimamani Award, a special honor from the government.

Early Life and Family Background
Sivakarthikeyan Doss was born in Singampunari, India. He grew up in a family that served the public. His father, G. Doss, was a jail superintendent. His mother, Raji Doss, was a homemaker. Sivakarthikeyan has an older sister.
He went to school at Campion Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School. Later, he earned a degree in Computer Science Engineering. He also completed an MBA in Chennai. Sivakarthikeyan married Aarthi on August 27, 2010. They have three children: Aardhana, Gugan, and Pavan.
Sivakarthikeyan's Career Journey
Starting in TV and Moving to Movies (2006–2013)
During his college days, Sivakarthikeyan loved performing. He did mimicry and stand-up comedy on stage. His friends encouraged him to try out for Kalakka Povathu Yaaru?. This was a comedy TV show on Star Vijay.
He started his career by mimicking others. He won the second season of the show in 2006. Filmmakers noticed his talent. He appeared in short films like Mugaputhagam.
In 2012, director Pandiraj offered him a main role in the film Marina. Sivakarthikeyan worked hard for this role. He visited Marina Beach often to understand the setting. Critics liked his performance in the film.
Before Marina was released, Aishwarya Rajinikanth chose him for a supporting role. He played Dhanush's friend in the movie 3. People really enjoyed his funny parts in this serious film. This movie also started his friendship with Dhanush. Sivakarthikeyan often says Dhanush is his mentor in the film world.
Later in 2012, he appeared in the romantic comedy Manam Kothi Paravai. This film did well at the box office. It showed his potential as an actor.
Trying New Roles and Finding Success (2013–2019)
In 2013, Sivakarthikeyan starred in three films. His first film that year was Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga. It was a comedy about two friends growing up. He worked with director Pandiraj again for this film. It was filmed in his hometown of Tiruchirappalli. The movie was a big success and made good profits.
Next, he starred in Ethir Neechal. This film was produced by Dhanush. It told the story of a young man who was a talented runner. He worked hard to make a name for himself.
His third film in 2013 was Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam. In this comedy, he played a carefree young man from a village. He acted alongside Sri Divya and Soori. Expanding His Career (2021–Present)
Sivakarthikeyan's only film in 2021 was Doctor. This movie received excellent reviews from both critics and audiences. It became his highest-earning film ever. It was his first movie to collect over 100 crore rupees worldwide.
His next film was Don, released in 2022. Like Doctor, it was well-received by critics and audiences. It also earned over 100 crore rupees globally. This made it his second big hit in a row.
In 2022, he started filming for Prince. He also began shooting for Maaveeran. Prince was released in 2022 but received negative reviews. However, Maaveeran came out in 2023 and was a commercial success.
In January 2024, his long-awaited film Ayalaan was released. It received positive reviews, especially from families. The film used a lot of special effects, with 1,400 visual shots. Ayalaan was a box office success. It became one of the highest-earning Indian films of 2024.
In February 2024, his film with Raaj Kamal Films International was announced. The title was revealed to be Amaran. A teaser trailer for Amaran quickly gained millions of views. Amaran became a surprise hit at the box office. It was the second highest-earning Tamil film of 2024. Critics praised its story, which was based on the real-life events of an Indian army officer, Mukund Varadarajan. Sivakarthikeyan showed a new side in Amaran. It was his first major action film.
