Akhrik Sokratovich Tsveiba (born September 10, 1966) is a former professional football player. He was a strong defender. What makes him special is that he played for four different national teams! These were the Soviet Union, CIS, Ukraine, and Russia.

Akhrik Tsveiba's Football Journey

Akhrik Tsveiba was born in Gudauta. He started playing youth football there. He became a professional defender. He played for several clubs, including Dinamo Sukhumi and Dinamo Tbilisi.

Playing for Dynamo Kyiv

In 1990, Tsveiba joined Dynamo Kyiv. This was a big club in the Soviet Union. With Dynamo Kyiv, he won the 1990 Soviet Top League. This was a major championship. He was also given the title "Master of Sports of the USSR" for his skills.

Adventures Abroad

After playing in the Soviet Union, Tsveiba moved to other countries. He played for Gamba Osaka in Japan. Later, he returned to Russia to play for Alania Vladikavkaz. He also played for a Chinese team, Shanghai Pudong. Towards the end of his career, he played for Russian teams like Uralan Elista and Dynamo Moscow.

Winning the Legends Cup

In 2009, Tsveiba was part of the Russian team that won the 2009 Legends Cup. This is a tournament for former football stars.

Akhrik Tsveiba had a very interesting international career. He played for four different national teams.

Soviet Union and CIS

He was part of the Soviet Union squad for the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He didn't play in any matches there. Later, he was also with the CIS for Euro 1992. The CIS team was formed after the Soviet Union broke up.

Ukraine and Russia

In August 1992, Tsveiba played one friendly match for the Ukraine national team. This was against Hungary. A few years later, in 1997, he decided to play for the Russia national team. He played for Russia during the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualification matches.

Life After Football

After he stopped playing, Tsveiba continued to be involved in football. From 2014 to 2015, he worked as a scout for Dynamo Moscow. A scout's job is to find talented new players for the team. He worked under the manager Stanislav Cherchesov.

Family Life

Akhrik Tsveiba's son, Sandro Tsveiba, has also become a professional footballer. It seems football runs in the family!
