Akin Island is a rocky island located off the northern coast of Nelson Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is about 280 meters (918 feet) long and 100 meters (328 feet) wide. The island gets its name from Akin Point, a place on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast.

For example, it is about 2.35 kilometers (1.46 miles) west-northwest of Cariz Point. It is also 2.02 kilometers (1.26 miles) north-northeast of Baklan Point. Other nearby spots include Withem Island, Nancy Rock, and Fregata Island. British explorers mapped Akin Island in 1968.
