Alan Hodgkinson MBE (born 16 August 1936 – died 8 December 2015) was a famous English goalkeeper and a respected goalkeeping coach. He was known for his amazing skills even though he wasn't the tallest player.

Playing Football: Alan's Career
Alan Hodgkinson was a professional football goalkeeper. He was about 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m) tall, which is a bit shorter than most goalkeepers. But he was super good at choosing the right place to stand on the field. This skill helped him stop many shots!
He played for Sheffield United for a very long time, from 1954 until 1971. He also played for the England national football team from 1957 to 1960.
