Alan Robinson is a politician from Northern Ireland. He is a member of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). Since 2022, he has been a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). He represents the area of East Londonderry.
Before becoming an MLA, Alan Robinson was a local councillor. He served on the Causeway Coast and Glens Council. He represented the Limavady area from 2014 to 2022.

Alan Robinson's Political Journey
Starting in Local Government
Alan Robinson began his political career in local government. In 2005, he was first elected to the Limavady Borough Council. He represented the Limavady Town District. His father, George Robinson, was also a councillor in the same district.
Alan Robinson was re-elected to the Limavady Borough Council in 2011. This council was responsible for local services in the Limavady area.
Moving to a New Council
In 2014, a new council was formed called the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council. Alan Robinson was elected to this new council. He continued to represent the Limavady area. He was re-elected to this council again in 2019.
Becoming an MLA
In the 2022 Assembly election, Alan Robinson became an MLA. He took over this role from his father, George Robinson. An MLA is a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly. This Assembly makes laws for Northern Ireland.
