Alban is a small town in Portage County, Wisconsin, United States. In the year 2000, about 897 people lived there. A smaller community, also called Alban, is located inside this town. The town was named after a brave soldier and state senator named James S. Alban. He was a colonel in the Civil War and sadly died in the Battle of Shiloh.
