His Amazing Artworks
Between 1787 and 1806, Sir Albanis Beaumont created and published many artworks. These artworks showed beautiful scenes from different places. He focused on the south of France, the stunning Alps mountains, and various parts of Italy.
Early Works and Travels
In 1787, he showed a collection of twelve pictures of Italy. Many of these were views from around Nice, a city in France. The next year, in 1788, he showed another twelve pictures. These were of places near Chamonix and Lake Geneva. He drew and etched these pictures himself.
Working with Other Artists
Some of his early works became even more special because of another artist. A painter named Bernard Lory the elder added beautiful colors to them. This made Beaumont's drawings look even more lively and impressive.
After a while, Sir Albanis Beaumont moved his art business to London. There, he worked with a partner named Thomas Gowland. They also teamed up with an engraver named Cornelis Apostool. An engraver is an artist who carves designs onto plates to make prints.
Later Collections of Views
In the late 1790s, this new team created many more pictures. These new collections showed scenes from Switzerland, France, and Savoy. While these pictures were good, they didn't have the special coloring that Bernard Lory had added to his earlier works.
However, the clean and strong lines made by Apostool's engraving needle made these later works stand out. His precise work added a lot to the beauty of these prints.
Becoming a Landscape Painter
Later in his life, Sir Albanis Beaumont started to focus more on painting. In 1806, he showed a painting called A Storm at Sea. People said that the waves in this painting looked incredibly real. This showed his skill in capturing nature's power.
