Albert City is a small city located in Buena Vista County, Iowa, in the United States. In 2020, about 677 people lived there. It's a quiet place with a rich history and a strong community spirit.

History of Albert City
Albert City was started in 1890 on land owned by a man named George Anderson. At first, it was called Manthorp, named after a town in Sweden.
However, the post office worried that "Manthorp" sounded too much like "Marathon," another nearby town. So, the name was changed to Albert City. It was named after Albertina Anderson, who was George Anderson's wife. The city officially became a town in 1900.
Albert City Museum
The city has a special museum located in an old train station. This building used to be the Chicago, Milwaukee and Pacific Railroad-Albert City Station. It's so important that it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's a protected site because of its history.
Threshermen & Collectors Show
Every summer since 1971, Albert City hosts a fun event called the Albert City Threshermen & Collectors Show. People come to see old farming machines, learn about how things were done in the past, and enjoy the community.
