Albert Kelly (born on March 21, 1991) is an Australian professional rugby league player. He plays as a five-eighth, positions or halfback, positions. Currently, he plays for the Redcliffe Dolphins in the Hostplus Cup.
He has also played for several other teams. These include the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and the Gold Coast Titans in Australia's National Rugby League (NRL). In England, he played for Hull Kingston Rovers and Hull F.C. in the Super League. He also spent time with the Souths Logan Magpies in the Hostplus Cup.

Early Life and Rugby Beginnings
Albert Kelly was born in Macksville, New South Wales, Australia. He grew up in a town called Kempsey, New South Wales.
He started playing rugby league when he was just five years old. He came from the junior rugby league teams in the Group 2 area. Albert went to St Paul's College, Kempsey before moving to Sydney. There, he attended Patrician Brothers' College, Blacktown.
He was chosen for the New South Wales under-15s Combined Catholic High Schools' rugby league team. He played as a five-eighth. In 2008, he was the vice-captain for the Australian Schoolboys team. Many top teams wanted him, and he eventually signed with the Parramatta Eels.
Albert Kelly's Playing Career
Junior and Early Senior Teams
From 2008 to 2010, Albert Kelly played in the Toyota Cup for the Parramatta Eels. He scored 11 tries in 23 games during this time. He also played for the New South Wales under-18s team.
In 2010, he joined the Cronulla's Toyota Cup team. He scored three tries in 11 games for them.
Time with Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks
Albert Kelly made his first NRL appearance for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in Round 1 of the 2010 NRL season. This was against the Melbourne Storm. He played only five matches that year because of an injury. He returned for Round 1 of the 2011 NRL season.
He scored his first two NRL tries in Round 3 of the 2011 season against the Penrith Panthers. In Round 7, he broke his leg during a game against the North Queensland Cowboys. Kelly came back to play in the last two matches of that season. In 2012, his time with the Cronulla team ended.

Playing in Newcastle Rugby League
In 2012, Albert Kelly signed with the Central Newcastle Butcher Boys. This team plays in the Newcastle Rugby League. While there, he also trained with the Newcastle Knights. The Knights' coach, Wayne Bennett, helped Kelly get his career back on track. He then signed with the Knights to play in the New South Wales Cup competition.
Joining the Gold Coast Titans
In 2013, Kelly joined the Gold Coast Titans to try out for a contract. He played his first game for the Titans against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. They lost the game 12–10, but Kelly showed good potential. He helped set up a try in that game. In his next game, he scored two tries and helped set up another. This was in a big 36-0 win against the Canberra Raiders.
On August 22, 2014, Kelly, along with other NRL players, accepted a reduced ban. This was related to a team program from 2011 when he was with the Sharks.

Moving to Hull Kingston Rovers
On October 18, 2014, Albert Kelly left the Titans. He signed a two-year contract with Hull Kingston Rovers in England. He joined them along with Maurice Blair. On September 30, 2015, he was named Hull KR Player of the Year. In 2015, Kelly played in the 2015 Challenge Cup final. His team lost 50–0 to Leeds Rhinos.

Playing for Hull F.C.
After two seasons with Hull Kingston Rovers, Albert Kelly moved to their rivals, Hull F.C. On August 26, 2017, Kelly played in the 2017 Challenge Cup final for Hull F.C. They won the game 18–14 against the Wigan Warriors at Wembley Stadium.
He was also chosen for the 2017 Super League Dream Team. He finished as the runner-up for the Man of Steel award in 2017.
Time with Brisbane Broncos
Albert Kelly joined the Brisbane Broncos on a special contract before the 2021 NRL season. He spent the early part of 2021 playing for the Souths Logan Magpies in the Hostplus Cup. In March 2021, while playing for the Magpies, Kelly got a cut on his right ear after clashing heads with another player.
He was chosen to play as a halfback for the Broncos in Round 11. This was against the Sydney Roosters.
Current Teams: Redcliffe Dolphins and Souths Magpies
On January 18, 2023, Kelly signed a contract to join the Redcliffe Dolphins in the Queensland Cup.
In November 2023, Albert Kelly also signed a contract to join the Souths Magpies, another team in the Queensland Cup.

Personal Life
Albert Kelly is a cousin of fellow rugby league player Greg Inglis.
