Albertson Brook facts for kids
Albertson Brook, sometimes called Albertsons Brook, is a stream located in the southern part of New Jersey, United States. It is actually the upper part of Nescochague Creek before it joins with Great Swamp Brook. This brook flows through a special natural area known as the Pine Barrens.
Albertson Brook is found near the town of Hammonton, New Jersey. It flows for about 6.3 miles (10.1 km) through two counties: Atlantic County and Camden County.
The area of land that drains into Albertson Brook is about 17.1 square miles (44.3 km²). Nearly half of this land is covered by forests. The rest of the land is used for towns and cities, or for farming. In the past, these uses sometimes caused pollution in the brook.
Albertson Brook is formed when two smaller streams, the Pump Branch and Blue Anchor Brook, flow together.
