A Look Back in Time
The community of Albion got its name from an early resident. His name was Isaac Brown. He decided to name this new place after his old hometown. That town was Albion, New York.
The Albion Academy Story
One of the most important parts of Albion's history is the Albion Academy. This was a school that opened many years ago. It was first started by a religious group called the Seventh Day Baptists. Later, another church group helped run the school.
The Albion Academy taught students for many years. However, it eventually closed its doors in 1918. A few years later, in 1928, the local government bought the school buildings.
Today, the old academy property is a special place. In 1959, it became home to the Albion Academy Historical Society. This group now runs a museum there. You can visit the museum to learn more about the school and the community's past.
