Alcabalusa, also known as Allqa Walusa or Allqawalusa, is a mountain located in the Andes mountain range in Peru. It is part of the Wansu area. This mountain stands very tall, reaching about 5,224 meters (17,139 feet) high.
The name Allqa Walusa comes from the Aymara and Quechua languages. Allqa means "multicolored," "black and white," or "two-colored." Walusa or wallusa refers to a type of watery potato. So, the name might describe the mountain's appearance or the plants found there.
This impressive mountain is found in two different regions of Peru. It is partly in the Apurímac Region, specifically in the Antabamba Province and Oropesa District. The other part of the mountain is in the Arequipa Region, within the La Unión Province and Huaynacotas District.
