Alden Darby's College Football Journey
Alden Darby played college football for the Arizona State Sun Devils. He was part of their team from 2010 to 2013. During his time there, he was recognized as a top player. He was named to the All-Pac-12 team twice. This means he was one of the best players in his college conference.

After college, Alden Darby hoped to join the NFL. He was not chosen in the 2014 NFL Draft, but he still got a chance to play.
Playing in the NFL

Joining the Winnipeg Blue Bombers
In 2021, Alden Darby was traded to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He played in 11 games for them. He had 34 tackles and was named a CFL West All-Star. This means he was one of the best defensive players in the Western Division of the CFL.
The Blue Bombers also had a great season in 2021. They won the 108th Grey Cup, making Alden Darby a two-time Grey Cup champion!
Time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats
In 2022, Darby signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He played in ten games for them. He recorded 23 tackles, one sack, and one interception. A sack is when a defensive player tackles the opposing team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage.
Returning to Winnipeg
Later in 2022, Alden Darby was traded back to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He played in two more regular season games. He also played in the playoffs and the 109th Grey Cup game. The Blue Bombers lost the Grey Cup that year to the Toronto Argonauts.
In 2023, Darby played in 11 games for the Blue Bombers. He made 20 tackles on defense and three tackles on special teams. Special teams are the units that play during kickoffs, punts, and field goals. He got injured during the season and did not play again that year.
Alden Darby announced his retirement from professional football in June 2024. He had a successful career, winning two Grey Cups and being recognized as an All-Star.
