Alderaan facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Alderaan is a make-believe planet from the Star Wars movies. These famous films were created by George Lucas. Alderaan is known as the home of two important characters: Princess Leia Organa and Senator Bail Organa.

You can see Alderaan's surface for a short time in the movie Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which came out in 2005. However, the whole planet is later destroyed. This happens in the movie Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977). A giant space station called the Death Star shoots a powerful laser beam at Alderaan. The planet then explodes, and everyone on it is lost.
