His first Olympic appearance was at the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. He took part in several speed skating races:

- He placed 20th in the 1500 metres race. This is a middle-distance event.
- He came 21st in the 5000 metres competition. This is a longer endurance race.
1936 Winter Olympics
Aleksander Mitt also competed in the 1936 Winter Olympics held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. He raced in the same three events:
