The 1936 Winter Olympics, officially called the IV Olympic Winter Games, were held in 1936. They took place in a town called Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, Germany. Germany also hosted the 1936 Summer Olympics that same year in Berlin. These games were a big event for the country.

Nations Competing in the Games

Several countries made their first appearance at the Winter Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. These included Australia, Bulgaria, Greece, Liechtenstein, Spain, and Turkey. Other nations like Estonia, Latvia, the Netherlands, and Yugoslavia returned after missing the 1932 Winter Olympics.
