Aleksei Vasilyevich Petrenko (Russian: Алексей Васильевич Петренко; 26 March 1938 – 22 February 2017) was a famous movie and stage actor. He was from the Soviet Union, which was a large country that existed before Russia.
Aleksei Petrenko was well-known for playing important historical figures. One of his most famous roles was Grigori Rasputin. He played Rasputin in the historical drama Agony. He also played Joseph Stalin, a leader from history, in a TV show called World War II: Behind Closed Doors. This show was a documentary from BBC Two.
