Aleksey Igudesman is a talented Russian-German musician. He is a violinist and a composer. You might know him from the funny music duo called Igudesman & Joo. He was born on February 22, 1973.

About Aleksey Igudesman
Aleksey Igudesman was born in Leningrad. This city was in the Soviet Union back then. He came from a family who loved music. When he was 6 years old, his family moved to Germany. By the time he was 12, he was accepted into a special music school. This was the Yehudi Menuhin School in England. He studied the violin there. Later, from 1989 to 1998, he learned more about the violin. He studied with a teacher named Boris Kuschnir in Vienna.
Books and Music
Aleksey has also written many books. These books are about music and violin playing. Some of his books are called Style Workout, The Catscratchbook, and Pigs Can Fly. He also wrote books for two violins. These include Klezmer & More, Celtic & More, Latin & More, and Asia & More.
Aleksey has played his violin duets with many famous violinists. These include Gidon Kremer, Julian Rachlin, and Janine Jansen. He also worked with Roger Moore, who read Aleksey's poems. With his music group Triology, he played concerts around the world. They also recorded several music CDs.
In 2009 and 2010, Aleksey released his first three violin sonatas. A sonata is a piece of music for one or two instruments. He dedicated his second sonata to Julian Rachlin. The third sonata was for another violinist, Viktoria Mullova. In 2009, he won an award for his music piece The Heat of Passion.
Igudesman & Joo
Aleksey Igudesman often tours with pianist Hyung-ki Joo. They are a music and comedy duo called Igudesman & Joo. They combine classical music with humor. Their shows are very popular and entertaining.
Film and Other Projects
Aleksey is also an actor and a film director. He directed a movie called Noseland. This movie is a funny documentary about classical musicians. Famous people like John Malkovich and Roger Moore were in it. The movie won an award for "Most Entertaining Documentary" in 2012.
Aleksey also helped start a company called Music Traveler. This company has an app. The app helps musicians find and book practice rooms. Many famous musicians support Music Traveler. These include Billy Joel, Hans Zimmer, and John Malkovich. Since 2017, Aleksey has been touring with a show called The Music Critic. In this show, John Malkovich plays the main role.
