About Alex Hitz
Alex Hitz was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 10, 1969. His mother's family helped start The Coca-Cola Company. His father's family came from Switzerland. When Alex was three, his parents divorced. Later, his mother married Robert Shaw, a famous music conductor. Alex spent some of his younger years living in France.
In 1987, after finishing high school, Alex worked at a restaurant in Atlanta called The Patio by The River.
Alex's Education
Alex Hitz studied English at Washington and Lee University, graduating in 1991. During his studies, he also took classes in English and Theatre at the University of London. He learned about French Culture and Civilization at L’Université de Paris-La Sorbonne in Paris.
He later went to cooking schools to improve his skills. He attended Peter Kump's Cooking School in New York City in 1995. In 1996, he studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, which is a very famous cooking school.
Alex Hitz's Career
In 1991, Alex Hitz became a co-owner of The Patio by the River restaurant. He sold his share in 1994. In 1995, he moved to New York City. There, he helped produce some Broadway shows, like Triumph of Love and a new version of The Sound of Music.
Later, Alex started investing in homes and buildings in New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. He also designed custom clothing. Since 2009, he has been one of the three people in charge of The Dennis Hopper Trust.
The Beverly Hills Kitchen
In 2008, Alex Hitz began creating his own line of special frozen food products called The Beverly Hills Kitchen. His first product was Beef Bourguignon, a classic French stew. He first showed it on the TV shopping channel QVC in October 2009. In 2011, he moved his product line to another TV shopping channel, Home Shopping Network.

Alex Hitz's cooking style mixes flavors and techniques from Atlanta and France. He creates fancy, restaurant-quality recipes that people can make at home.
