Playing career 1984–2005

Alexander Leonidovich Andrijevsky (born August 10, 1968) is a former professional ice hockey player from Belarus. He played as a right winger. Most of his long career, from 1984 to 2005, was spent playing in different European leagues. He even played one game in the famous National Hockey League (NHL) for the Chicago Blackhawks. Alexander also proudly represented his home country, Belarus, in two Winter Olympics and many World Championships. After he stopped playing, he became a coach for several ice hockey teams, including Admiral Vladivostok in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

Playing Ice Hockey

Alexander Andrijevsky started his ice hockey journey in his hometown. He played for Dinamo Minsk from 1984 to 1990. Then, in 1991, he joined Dynamo Moscow. This was a big year for him! The Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL picked him in their draft. He was the 220th player chosen overall.

Playing in North America

After one more season with Dynamo Moscow, Alexander moved to North America. He signed with the Chicago Blackhawks. For the 1992–93 season, he played for the Indianapolis Ice team. This team was part of the International Hockey League (IHL). Later that season, he got called up to play his only NHL game for the Blackhawks.

The next season, Alexander played only a few games for Indianapolis. Then he moved to another IHL team, the Kalamazoo Wings. This was his last year playing in North America.

Playing in Europe

After his time in North America, Alexander moved to Finland. He joined a team called HPK in the top Finnish league, SM-liiga. He played there for four seasons.

Later, in the 1998–99 season, he played for two different teams. He played for HC Bolzano in Italy and for the Krefeld Pinguine in Germany. He also played in Germany's second league for EHC Neuwied. Then he returned to the top German league with Revierlöwen Oberhausen for two seasons.

In 2001, Alexander went back to Russia. He played for Khimik Voskresensk in Russia's second-tier league. He later returned to Germany for a short time with EHC Freiburg. He finished his playing career back in Belarus, playing for HK Gomel and then returning to his first team, Dinamo Minsk.
