Alexander Fraser of Touchfraser and Cowie was an important person in Scotland a long time ago. He lived in the 1300s. He was a Scottish nobleman. He held important jobs for the king. Alexander was the King's Chamberlain. This meant he managed the king's money and household. He was also a sheriff in two areas: Stirling and Kincardine. He came from the Clan Fraser. Alexander Fraser died in a battle called the Battle of Dupplin Moor on August 11, 1332.

On November 1, 1315, King Robert the Bruce gave Alexander Fraser a lot of land. The king took some land from the Strachan family. He then gave it to Alexander Fraser. This was because Alexander was a strong supporter of King Robert the Bruce.

Important Areas

Alexander Fraser received many large areas of land. These included the Barony of Cowie, the Barony of Cluny, and the Barony of Kinnaird. He was the king's Chamberlain at least until 1319. These lands were important. Two old roads, the Elsick Mounth and Causey Mounth, crossed through them. These roads were used for travel and trade in the Middle Ages.

Around 1316, Alexander Fraser got married. He married Mary Bruce. Mary was the daughter of Sir Robert de Brus, 6th Lord of Annandale and Marjorie, Countess of Carrick. She was also the widow of Sir Nigel Campbell. Alexander and Mary had two known children:
