Alexandre Levy (born November 10, 1864 – died January 17, 1892) was a talented Brazilian composer, pianist, and conductor. He was born in São Paulo, Brazil.
Alexandre Levy was special because he was one of the first to mix classical music with popular Brazilian folk songs and rhythms. He created a new and exciting sound. Sadly, he passed away at the young age of 27. Today, his hometown honors him with an important award named after him.
