Alexandrina was born in Lisbon, Portugal. She is one of 11 children in her family. She started playing handball in Portugal. In 2012, she became a Spanish citizen. This allowed her to play for Spain's national team. She often wore the number 86 on her jersey. This is because 1986 is the year she was born.
