Alexey Borisovich Miller (Russian: Алексе́й Бори́сович Ми́ллер; born 31 January 1962) is a well-known Russian businessman. He is currently the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Management Committee (CEO) of Gazprom. Gazprom is Russia's largest state-owned company. It is also one of the biggest public energy suppliers in the world.

Early Life and Education
Alexey Miller was born in Leningrad, which is now called Saint Petersburg. His family had German roots. He studied at the Leningrad Institute of Finance and Economics. There, he earned a special degree in economics.
Alexey Miller's Career Journey
Miller started his career as an engineer-economist. This was at a research institute in Leningrad. In 1990, he worked as a junior researcher. He also became a section head for economic reform in the city council.
From 1991 to 1996, Miller worked for the Saint Petersburg Mayor's Office. During this time, he worked under Vladimir Putin. He was in charge of monitoring markets. He also served as deputy chairman of the External Relations Committee.
From 1996 to 1999, he was a director at the Port of Saint Petersburg. He focused on development and investments. From 1999 to 2000, he was the Director General of the Baltic Pipeline System.
In 2000, he became the Deputy Minister of Energy for Russia. Since 2001, he has been the Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom. In 2002, he also became the deputy chairman of Gazprom’s board of directors.

International Restrictions
In April 2018, the United States placed some restrictions on Miller. He was added to a list of individuals. These restrictions mean that people and companies in the U.S. cannot do business with him.
After certain events in 2022, the British government also placed restrictions on Miller. These included freezing his money and assets. He was also given a travel ban.
Awards and Recognition
Alexey Miller has received many awards and honors. In December 2005, a Russian business magazine named him "Person of the Year." He shared this title with Dmitry Medvedev, who was also involved with Gazprom.
Miller's awards include:
- The Order For Merit to the Fatherland, I and IV Class.
- The Medal of the Order for the Services to the Fatherland, II Class.
- The Order of Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation.
- The Order of the Hungarian Republic Cross, II Class, for his work in energy cooperation.

- The Dostyk (Friendship) Order, II Class, from Kazakhstan.
- The Order of Honor from the Republic of South Ossetia.
- The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
- Religious awards from the Russian Orthodox Church.
