Alexia Khadime (born June 9, 1983) is a talented British actress and singer. She is famous for her amazing performances in musical theatre shows and on television.

Alexia Khadime's Career
On Stage: Theatre Roles
Alexia Khadime first performed on stage in 1999. She was in a show called Cinderella at the Hackney Empire theatre. The next year, she joined a UK tour of the musical Leader of the Pack.
She made her big debut in London's West End when she was just 17. This is like the Broadway of London! She was part of the cast in The Lion King in 2001. She also learned the main role of "Nala" so she could play it if needed. In 2003, she toured the UK in Whistle Down the Wind, playing "Candy".
In 2004, Alexia returned to The Lion King. This time, she played the main role of "Nala" until 2008.
Playing Elphaba in Wicked
In 2008, she got a huge role: "Elphaba" in the musical Wicked. She started playing Elphaba on her 25th birthday! She played the role for six months. She later returned to Wicked in May 2009. During her time in Wicked, Alexia performed alongside Dianne Pilkington, who played "Glinda". In 2009, they won an award together for their work in Arts & Culture. Alexia finished her run in Wicked in March 2010. As of 2023, Alexia is the only black woman to play Elphaba full-time in any Wicked show.
After Wicked, she acted in a play called Welcome to Thebes in 2010. Then, she returned to musicals, playing "Deb" in Ordinary Days in 2011.
Other Famous Roles
In June 2011, Alexia took over the well-known role of "Éponine" in the London show of Les Misérables. She played this role for almost a year.
In 2012, Alexia joined the first London cast of The Book of Mormon. She played the role of "Nabulungi". For this role, she won the "Best Supporting Actress in a Musical" award in 2014! Her last show in The Book of Mormon was in January 2016.
Alexia also played Miriam in The Prince of Egypt at the Dominion Theatre in London.
On March 7, 2023, Alexia returned to Wicked as Elphaba. This time, she performed with Lucy St. Louis as Glinda. It was the first time in history that both roles were played by black actresses at the same time!

On Screen: TV and Film
Alexia Khadime started acting on TV in 1996. She was in an episode of the BBC show The Sculptress. She also appeared in Grange Hill for two years. In 1998, she had a regular role as "Tanisha" in the children's ITV series Comin' Atcha!.
In 1999, she played "Ellie Burns" in the BBC's The Queen's Nose. She also had roles in shows like The Bill, Class Action, and Sky One's Dream Team.
In 2012, while she was in Les Misérables on stage, Alexia made a special guest appearance on an Irish TV show called OMG! Jedward's Dream Factory. An 11-year-old fan named Aoife Dardis wished to see Les Misérables and meet Alexia, her favorite actress. Alexia also played "Madeva" in the children's game show Splatalot!. You might also know her voice as Sardonyx in the Cartoon Network series Steven Universe.
Movie Appearances
Alexia appeared in the 2012 movie version of Les Misérables. She had a small role as a wench, along with other Wicked stars Kerry Ellis and Dianne Pilkington. On her birthday, June 9, the movie London Road was shown. She had a small role in that film too.
Music Career
In February 2003, Alexia released a song called "Ring" under the name "Alexia". It reached number 48 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2008, she sang a duet called "Enchanted" with Ben James-Ellis for an album of musical songs. In 2011, she sang another duet called "Looking Back" with her Ordinary Days co-star Daniel Boys. You can also hear her voice on the soundtracks for the movies Pride and Amazing Grace.
