Alfredo Biondi (born June 29, 1928 – died June 24, 2020) was an Italian politician and a lawyer. He was an important figure in Italian politics for many years.

Biondi served as the Minister of Justice in 1994. This role is like being the main person in charge of the country's laws and courts. He worked under Silvio Berlusconi, who was the Prime Minister at that time.

Before that, he was also the Minister of the Environment from 1983 to 1984. As Environment Minister, he helped make decisions about protecting nature and the planet. This was during the government led by Bettino Craxi.

A Life in Politics

Alfredo Biondi was born in Pisa, a famous city in Italy. He dedicated most of his life to public service.

His Political Journey

Biondi started his political career with the Liberal Party. He was a member of this party until 1994. After that, he joined a new political party called Forza Italia. This shows how politicians can sometimes change parties during their careers.

Serving in Parliament

Alfredo Biondi was a member of the Chamber of Deputies for a long time. This is one of the two main parts of the Italian Parliament, where laws are made. He served there from 1968 to 1972, and then again from 1979 all the way until 2006.

Later, he became a Senator. The Senate is the other main part of the Italian Parliament. He was a Senator from 2006 to 2008. These roles meant he helped create and approve laws for Italy.

Alfredo Biondi passed away on June 24, 2020, in Genoa, Italy. He was 91 years old.
