Where Alina Grew Up
Alina Orlova has a mixed background. Her father was Polish, and her mother was Russian. Her father was born in Lithuania, and her mother was born in Voronezh, Russia. Later, their families moved to Kazakhstan before settling in Lithuania.
Alina's family moved to Visaginas, a town in Lithuania. This town was built to support the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, where Alina's father worked. Most people in Visaginas spoke Russian. Alina's family also spoke Russian at home. However, Alina and her brother went to the only Lithuanian-speaking school in town. When asked about her background, Alina said she feels her way of thinking is definitely "Baltic." As a child, she attended a special music school and learned to play the piano.

First Album and Tours
In 2008, Alina released her first album, Laukinis šuo dingo. This title means The Wild Dog Dingo. It is also a clever play on words, as "dingo" means "missing" in Lithuanian. Later that year, Alina also held concerts in Russia, London, and Liverpool. She has also performed in Poland, Ireland, and at the Europavox festival in France.
