Alipes was an amazing British Thoroughbred racehorse. She was born in 1757. This incredible mare won all eight of her races! She was never beaten. One of her biggest wins was the 1761 Great Subscription Purse. Sir B. Graham owned her first. Later, Richard Grosvenor became her owner.

About Alipes
Alipes was a beautiful brown or bay horse. She was a filly, which means a young female horse. She was born in 1757. William Swinburn was her breeder. Her dad was a famous horse named Regulus. He was also unbeaten in his races! Regulus was the best dad horse in Britain eight times. Alipes' mom was named Lusty.
Alipes' Racing Career
Alipes started racing when she was four years old. Her first race was in March 1761. It took place at Newmarket Racecourse. She won a big prize of 300 guineas. That's a lot of money!
Big Wins in 1761
The next month, she won the Jockey Club Plate. She beat many other horses in this race. In June, she won the Subscription Purse at Newcastle. She raced against horses named Mark and Trudge.
At York Racecourse, she ran in the Great Subscription Purse. This race was for four-year-old horses. Alipes was the favorite to win. She beat horses like Mark, Leander, and Strawberry. She won the race easily. She finished her 1761 season with another win. This was a 420 guineas race at Richmond.
Later Races and Retirement
After her amazing wins, Richard Grosvenor bought Alipes. In 1762, she won the King's Plate at Hambleton. She beat a horse named Miss Lincoln. She also won another race in Lincoln that year.
Her very last race was in April 1763. It was at Newmarket. She won the King's Plate for Mares. She beat Imogin and four other horses. After this win, Alipes stopped racing. She was still unbeaten in all eight of her races! She then became a broodmare. This means she would have baby horses.
Alipes' Foals
Alipes had six foals (baby horses) at Grosvenor's stud farm. Here are some of them:
- Bandy filly – a bay filly born in 1764.
- Grasshopper – a bay filly born in 1765. Her dad was Bandy.
- Imogen – a bay filly born in 1767. Her dad was Belford. Imogen won races at Newmarket and Lichfield. She later had eight foals of her own.
- Squirrel colt – born in 1773. His dad was Squirrel.
