Alisha Rebecca Glass Childress, born on April 5, 1988, is an American professional volleyball player. She is known for her role as a setter for the Vegas Thrill team. Before playing professionally, Glass was a star player at Penn State. There, she helped her team win three NCAA championships in a row.
Glass also achieved great success with the United States national team. She won a gold medal at the 2014 World Championship. She also earned bronze medals at the 2015 World Cup and the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Alisha Glass's Volleyball Journey
High School Achievements
Alisha Glass played high school volleyball at Leland High School in Michigan. Her mother, Laurie Glass, was her coach. Her grandfather, Larry Glass, coached her in high school basketball.
Alisha was named to the all-state first team four times. She also made the all-region dream team and all-conference teams. She holds national and state high school records for aces in a season (296) and career (937). She also holds the record for career kills (3,584). During her high school career, she had a hitting percentage of .440. She also contributed 1,816 digs and 680 blocks. She was named "Michigan Gatorade High School Player of the Year." She also received the "Miss Volleyball" award for Michigan.
College Success at Penn State
Alisha played college volleyball for Penn State University. During her four years there, the Penn State Nittany Lions had an amazing record. They won 142 games and lost only 5. This included a perfect streak of 102 wins in a row over three seasons.
The team won the NCAA titles in 2007, 2008, and 2009. They also reached the Elite Eight in 2006. Penn State won four Big Ten Conference titles with Alisha on the team. She was named an All-American three times. She was also a first-team All-Big Ten player. As a setter, Glass helped the Penn State offense achieve a record-setting .390 hitting percentage. She finished her college career with 5,800 assists.
Playing for the National Team
Glass won a gold medal at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. Her national team beat China 3–1 in the final. She was also chosen as the tournament's "Best Setter." Glass played for the United States women's national volleyball team in Rio. The team won a bronze medal, and she was again named "Best Setter."

Coaching Career
Alisha Glass Childress also spent time as a coach. She joined the Stanford women's volleyball coaching staff. She worked as an assistant coach starting in January 2019. She stayed with the team for two seasons.
