The All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, often called the Muslim Conference (MC), is a political party. It works in Azad Kashmir, which is a territory managed by Pakistan.
How the Party Started
This party was started in 1941. Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas and Syed Aziz Badshah helped create it. They formed it in the old princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. It began as a group that split off from another party called the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference.
Role After India's Partition
After India was divided in 1947, the Muslim Conference wanted the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir to join Pakistan. The party helped start a movement called the Poonch Rebellion. This was against the local ruler's government. Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, a leader from the party, was important in this movement.
Later, Pakistan supported this movement. They made Ibrahim Khan the first President of the area that came to be known as Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
