Orange is a bright and warm color. It's made by mixing red and yellow together.
The color orange gets its name from the orange fruit. Before the orange fruit was brought to England in the 1500s, people used to call this color "red-yellow." The first time "orange" was used as a color name in the English language was in 1512. This happened during the time of King Henry VIII.
It's also a fun fact that "orange" is one of the very few words in the English language that doesn't rhyme with any other common word! (There's one rare word, 'sporange', but you won't hear it often!)
