Allan Hyde is a Danish actor born on December 20, 1989. He is well-known for his role as Godric, a very old vampire, in the TV series True Blood. Allan has also appeared in many Danish films and television shows.

Early Life and Acting Start

Allan Hyde was born in Denmark. His mother is Danish, and his father is English. He grew up in a town called Valby. Allan started acting at a Danish theater school called Eventyrteatret. In 2002, he performed in the musical Les Misérables.

Allan Hyde's Acting Career

Allan Hyde began his acting career on Danish television in 2008. He had roles in shows like Album and 2900 Happiness. That same year, he appeared in short films such as En Forelskelse (which means The Awakening) and Implosion.

Becoming Godric in True Blood

In 2009, Allan was chosen to play Godric in the HBO series True Blood. His character appeared in four episodes during the second season. Godric became very popular with viewers and the show's creator, Alan Ball. Because of this, Allan returned for the next two seasons. He appeared in flashbacks and as visions in Season 5. Allan lived in Los Angeles while working on True Blood until October 2012.

Roles After True Blood

After returning to Denmark, Allan took on new roles. In 2017, he played a Danish prince in the Norwegian film Askeladden i Dovregubbens hall. He also has a main role in Fars drenge, a comedy series that started in August 2021.

Voice Acting and Singing

Allan Hyde is also a talented voice actor. He provided the voice for Ron Weasley in all the Danish versions of the Harry Potter movies. He also voices many other cartoon characters on Danish television.

Besides acting, Allan is a singer. He sang on a song for the Danish version of the Camp Rock soundtrack. He also sings in the Danish films Far til fire - Onkel Sofus vender tilbage and Far til fires vilde ferie.

Working as a Scriptwriter

Allan Hyde also writes scripts. He worked with Anders Morgenthaler to write the comedy series Try Hard. This show first aired in the spring of 2021.

GourmetFilm Production Company

In 2008, Allan Hyde started a production company called GourmetFilm. He created it with his friend Aske Bang. Their web sitcom Alla Salute! started in April 2011. They also worked on the short film Fly on the Wings of Love.

Personal Life

Allan Hyde became engaged to Marie Hvidt in 2017.
