Allan Woodrow, born on November 6, 1964, is an American writer. He writes books mostly for kids aged 8-12. Some of his popular books are The Curse of the Werepenguin, Class Dismissed, and The Pet War. His very first book, The Rotten Adventures of Zachary Ruthless, came out in 2011. It was published by HarperCollins Children's Books.

About Allan Woodrow
Allan Woodrow has written over 30 books for young readers. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He grew up in Okemos, Michigan, which is near East Lansing.
Allan went to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After college, he worked as an advertising copywriter in Detroit. This means he wrote words for advertisements. He later worked in advertising in St. Louis and Chicago. In Chicago, he met and married Lauren Cohn. They live near Chicago today and have two children.
How Allan Woodrow Started Writing
Allan started writing children's books in 2009. By the end of that year, he had sold his first book. It was The Rotten Adventures of Zachary Ruthless. This book is a graphic novel, which means it tells a story using pictures and words. Aaron Blecha drew the pictures for it.
Allan has written many popular series and books. These include The Curse of the Werepenguin trilogy. A trilogy is a set of three books. He also wrote The Liberty Falls Elementary School series. This series includes books like Field Tripped, Unschooled, and Class Dismissed. He is also the author of The Pet War. Allan also helped write a collection of stories called Lucky Dog: Twelve Tales of Rescued Dogs.
Writing as Fowler DeWitt
Allan Woodrow also writes books using a different name, called a pen name. His pen name is Fowler DeWitt. Under this name, he wrote The Contagious Colors of Mumpley Middle School. He chose this pen name from two towns near where he grew up: Fowler, Michigan and DeWitt, Michigan. A second book in this series, The Amazing Wilmer Dooley, came out in 2014.
