Allbright is situated in a scenic part of Missouri. It lies along Gimlet Creek. It is also on the west side of the floodplain of the Castor River. A floodplain is a flat area of land next to a river that can get flooded when the river overflows. Allbright is about one mile north of the line that separates Madison County from Wayne County.

The community of Allbright got its name from an important person in its early days. A post office was opened in Allbright in 1905. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This post office was named after Frank Allbright, who was an early postmaster there. A postmaster is the person in charge of a post office. The Allbright post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1941.
