Alina Augusta Nissinen (born December 26, 1866 – died April 11, 1926) was an important Finnish educator and politician. She was a member of the Young Finnish Party. In 1907, she was elected to the Finnish Parliament. This was a big deal because she was part of the very first group of women to become Members of Parliament (MPs) in Finland. She served as an MP until 1909.

Early Life and Education
Alli Nissinen was born in a town called Iisalmi in 1866. After attending a girl's school, she decided to become a teacher. She worked hard to get the training she needed for this important job.
A Dedicated Teacher
Alli Nissinen loved teaching. From 1889 to 1899, she taught geography and religion at the Helsingin Suomalainen Yhteiskoulu. She also taught at the Helsingin Uusi yhteiskoulu from 1898 until 1916. Besides teaching in schools, she even ran her own special school. It was called the Alli Nissinen School of Preparation, and she ran it from 1889 until she passed away. She also led the Teachers' Association, helping other teachers.
Helping Women and Families
Alli Nissinen was very active in helping women and families. She was the vice-president of a women's organization called Naisasialiitto Unioni. She also led the Martha organisation, which helps families with home economics and practical skills. In 1903, she became the main editor for the Martha organisation's magazine, Emänttä. She continued this important role for the rest of her life. Alli also wrote several books for children, as well as plays and poems.
Making History in Parliament
In 1907, Alli Nissinen ran for election to the Finnish Parliament. She was on the list for the Young Finnish Party in the West Kuopio area. This election was historic because it was the first time women could run for and be elected to Parliament in Finland. Alli was one of 19 women who won seats in Parliament that year.
She was re-elected in 1908. During her time as an MP, she worked on the Committee on Legal Affairs. This committee helps make important decisions about laws. She served in Parliament until May 1909.
Her Legacy
Alli Nissinen passed away in Helsinki in 1926. She is remembered as a brave woman who made a difference. Her work as a teacher, writer, and politician helped improve education and women's rights in Finland. She showed that women could be leaders and make important contributions to their country.
