Alton Ford Jr. (born May 29, 1981 – died April 2, 2018) was an American professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and other basketball leagues around the world. His last team was the Erie BayHawks in the NBA D-League (now called the NBA G League).
Alton Ford was born in Houston, Texas. He went to Milby High School in Houston.
Basketball Career
Alton Ford was chosen by the Phoenix Suns in the 2001 NBA Draft. He was the 50th player picked overall.
NBA Teams
He played for the Phoenix Suns from 2001 to 2003. After that, he joined the Houston Rockets for the 2003-2004 season. In total, Alton Ford played 73 NBA games. He played 64 games for the Suns and 9 games for the Rockets. During his NBA career, he averaged about 2.5 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
Playing Overseas
After his time in the NBA, Alton Ford played basketball in other countries. From 2004 to 2008, he played for teams in different leagues around the world.
