The Story

Alvin keeps having scary dreams about a Wolfman. He wakes up screaming in fear! Simon and Dave think Alvin watches too many scary movies. Alvin believes their new neighbor, Mr. Lawrence Talbot, is creepy. He thinks Mr. Talbot might be hiding something.

Meanwhile, Theodore is having trouble with a bully named Nathan. He doesn't want to tell the principal. The principal is planning to retire soon because of Alvin's daily accidents. Alvin, however, stands up for Theodore.

Their school is getting ready for a play based on the famous horror story Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Alvin causes a huge explosion during a rehearsal. This makes a big mess in the school auditorium. Dave also gets a call from Miss Miller. She says the Chipettes were scared after walking home with the Chipmunks.

Because of Alvin's mishaps, Principal Milliken and Dave decide to change things. Alvin is taken out of his role as Mr. Hyde. He is given the smaller role of the butler instead. Dave also takes away all of Alvin's monster toys and books. To help Theodore feel better, they decide he should play Mr. Hyde. The principal hopes Theodore will learn to stand up for himself.

Alvin and Simon decide to find proof that Mr. Talbot is a werewolf. They call their mission "Munks on a Mission." Meanwhile, no one thinks Theodore can be scary enough for the play. But everything changes when Theodore gets bitten by a large dog on his way home. He was giving a necklace to Eleanor, whom he secretly likes. Later, they find out it was actually a werewolf that bit him!

The next day, Theodore performs an incredibly scary Mr. Hyde. But at night, Theodore starts changing into a puppy-like werewolf. His personality also changes, becoming meaner and more aggressive. With their brother turning into a werewolf, Alvin and Simon try to find a cure. They want to help Theodore and save the school play without Dave finding out. They even sing about it in "Monster Out in You."

They try their best but can't find a solution. They decide to ask a psychic named Madame Raya for advice. She tells them Theodore is almost a full animal. He will soon become a complete werewolf. Simon and Alvin ask if there's a cure. She suggests knocking him out with a silver cane while he's still a "puppy." This must happen before the next full moon, when the change will be complete.

Alvin takes this advice and sneaks into Mr. Talbot's house. He steals a silver cane. But Theodore breaks the cane in half when Alvin tries to use it. It doesn't cure him. As Theodore runs away, he bumps into Dave. That night, Dave goes to apologize to Mr. Talbot. During their talk, Mr. Talbot mentions his ancestor was killed by silver bullets. Then, the full moon rises, and Mr. Talbot turns into a werewolf!

Terrified, Dave runs to the school to warn the boys. But he bumps into a pole and passes out. Mr. Talbot, who followed Dave, goes inside the school. He chases Alvin, who realizes his suspicions were right all along.

During the play, Theodore changes into a werewolf on stage. He starts to attack Eleanor. But the necklace Theodore gave her shines in the moonlight. This makes Theodore remember his feelings for her, and he runs away. Eleanor follows him, wanting to help. She is almost attacked by Mr. Talbot, who was the original werewolf that bit Theodore.

Theodore quickly defends Eleanor and attacks Mr. Talbot. He bites Mr. Talbot while they fight as werewolves. Because of the bite, Theodore turns back into a chipmunk. Mr. Talbot also returns to normal. Mr. Talbot then runs off the stage. Simon explains to everyone that the bite reversed the werewolf effect on both of them. The crowd thinks it was all part of the play and applauds. Alvin tries to join the applause but is quickly pulled backstage by Miss Miller.

At the party after the play, they learn Mr. Talbot will be their new principal. Principal Millikin is taking a new job driving a truck of nitroglycerin. Dave wakes up and gives a speech about Mr. Talbot's new job. He almost attacks Mr. Talbot, claiming he's a werewolf. The boys quickly explain that Theodore handled everything. They leave out most of the scary details. Dave is impressed and proud of Theodore. As Dave hugs Theodore, Mr. Talbot whispers "Thank you." He really wanted to be free from his werewolf curse. The Chipmunks and Chipettes end the party with their famous performances, singing "Everything's Gonna Be Alright."
