Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein is a fun animated movie from 1999. It's a comedy horror film, which means it has funny parts and a few spooky moments! The movie was made by Bagdasarian Productions and Universal Cartoon Studios.

This film brings together the famous singing chipmunks, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, with the classic monster from Mary Shelley's book Frankenstein. It was the first of two Alvin and the Chipmunks movies made directly for video. A year later, a similar movie called Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman came out.

The Spooky Story: What Happens?

Chipmunks Get Lost at a Theme Park

The movie starts with the Chipmunks performing at a cool theme park called Majestic Movie Studios. This park is a bit like Universal Studios Hollywood! During a break from their concert, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore get lost.

They end up getting locked inside the park after everyone else has left. It's dark and quiet, which makes it a bit scary!

Meeting a Real Monster

The Chipmunks find their way to a spooky ride called "Frankenstein's Castle." But it turns out, a real Dr. Victor Frankenstein is working there! He's busy trying to bring his famous monster to life.

Suddenly, the monster wakes up! Dr. Frankenstein sends it after the Chipmunks. As they run away, Theodore accidentally drops his favorite teddy bear.

Frankie, the Friendly Monster

The monster follows the Chipmunks all the way home. But instead of being scary, it just wants to return Theodore's teddy bear! Theodore quickly becomes friends with the monster, and he names him "Frankie."

The Chipmunks soon realize that Frankie is actually very kind-hearted. He's not mean or scary at all!

Alvin's Monster Makeover

Meanwhile, Dave goes back to the park to book another concert for the Chipmunks. Dr. Frankenstein tracks Frankie to the Chipmunks' house. He's really mad that his monster is being nice!

So, Dr. Frankenstein kidnaps Alvin. Simon, Theodore, and Frankie rush back to the park to save him. Dr. Frankenstein tries to turn Alvin into a monster by giving him a potion and a big electric shock.

Frankie helps Alvin escape, and Simon grabs the doctor's book of potions. They all run back into the park.

Chaos at the Premiere

Soon after, the potion Alvin took starts to work! Alvin turns into a silly, wild monster. He escapes to a movie premiere happening at the park, causing lots of funny chaos.

Simon and Theodore use the potions book to find an antidote. They mix it using different foods from a buffet. They give it to Alvin during his rampage, and he turns back to normal!

A Happy Ending for Frankie

The Chipmunks then get ready to perform their concert. Dr. Frankenstein tries one more time to turn Alvin into a monster, but Frankie stops him. This causes a big explosion!

After the smoke clears, Theodore introduces Frankie to everyone at the concert. He tells them that Frankie is good and won't hurt anyone if they are kind to him.

Dr. Frankenstein, on the other hand, gets a new job as the studio's mascot, Sammy Squirrel. He's not happy about it at all!
