Amamkele Lithemba Qamata (born September 2, 1998) is a talented South African actress. She is famous for playing Buhle Ndaba in the Mzansi Magic TV show Gomora. She is also well-known for her role as Puleng Khumalo in the popular Netflix series Blood & Water.

Early Life and School
Amamkele Qamata was born in a small village called Cala in the Eastern Cape. When she was three years old, her family moved to Johannesburg.
Discovering Acting
Amamkele found her love for acting through school plays. She first appeared on screen in TV advertisements. She went to Reddam House Bedfordview for high school. After finishing school in 2016, she took a year off. She then started studying Theatre and Performance at the University of Cape Town. However, she left the university during her second year.
Acting Career
Amamkele Qamata started her TV acting career in 2016 when she was 17.
First TV Roles
Her first role was as Naledi in the TV comedy My Perfect Family on SABC1. In 2018, she also appeared in Rhythm City as Thandi.
Becoming a Star
In 2020, Amamkele joined the cast of Gomora. She played the character of Buhle in this Mzansi Magic series. Later that same year, she became a big name in the Netflix show Blood & Water.
In Blood & Water, Amamkele plays Puleng. Puleng's sister was taken at birth, and Puleng tries to prove that a successful swimmer from a rich private school is actually her long-lost sister. The casting director for Blood & Water, Kutlwano Ditsele, also worked on Gomora. He invited Amamkele to audition for Blood & Water, and she got the part!
Other Projects
Amamkele has also had roles in other shows like Our Girl. She is also set to star in an upcoming sports film called Fight Like a Girl. In this movie, she will act alongside Hakeem Kae-Kazim.
