Hakeem Kae-Kazim is a talented actor and producer from Nigeria and Britain. He was born on October 1, 1962. You might know him from his role as Georges Rutaganda in the movie Hotel Rwanda (2004). He also won an award called a SAFTA for his acting in the film Riding with Sugar (2020). Hakeem Kae-Kazim also helped make and star in the movie Man on Ground (2011), which earned him two nominations for the 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
On TV, Hakeem Kae-Kazim is famous for his parts in the miniseries Human Cargo (2004), the pirate show Black Sails (2014–2016), and the BBC series Troy: Fall of a City (2018), where he played Zeus.

Early Life and Training
Hakeem Kae-Kazim was born in Lagos State, Nigeria. His family is from Abeokuta, Ogun State. When he was a baby, his family moved to south London. He became interested in acting by performing in school plays. He also joined the National Youth Theatre, which helped him discover his love for acting.
He went on to study acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He finished his training in 1987. After that, he was invited to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. There, he continued to learn and improve his classical acting skills.
Acting Career Highlights
After working with famous actors like Brian Cox and Ian McKellen at the Royal National Theatre, Hakeem Kae-Kazim started appearing on British TV. He was in shows like The Bill and Love Hurts. In 1994, he got a regular role as Mr Manyeke in the children's TV series Grange Hill.
International Recognition
Hakeem Kae-Kazim began living and working in South Africa when he was 25. His first big movie role was in After the Rain (1999). But it was his role as Georges Rutaganda in the 2004 film Hotel Rwanda that made him known around the world. This movie was nominated for an Academy Award. In the same year, he starred in the Canadian miniseries Human Cargo, which earned him a nomination for a Gemini Award.
After Hotel Rwanda, Kae-Kazim appeared in several films. He played Captain Jockard in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. He also made guest appearances in popular TV shows like Lost, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Criminal Minds. He joined the cast of the TV series 24 as Colonel Iké Dubaku for its 2008 TV movie 24: Redemption and the seventh season in 2009.

Hakeem Kae-Kazim has also starred in Nigerian films such as Inale (2010) and Last Flight to Abuja (2012). He also appeared in Half of a Yellow Sun. He produced and starred in Man on Ground (2011), a movie about Nigerian immigrants in South Africa. This film earned him nominations for Best Film and Best Actor at the 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards. He also helped produce other films like Black Gold and Black November.
From 2014 to 2016, Kae-Kazim was a main actor in the pirate series Black Sails, playing Mr Scott. He also had a role in the 2016 miniseries Roots. In 2018, he starred as Zeus, the king of the gods, in the BBC fantasy series Troy: Fall of a City.
More recently, Hakeem Kae-Kazim won the South African Film and Television Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the 2020 Netflix film Riding with Sugar. He also appeared in The Watch and Intergalactic. You might have seen him in the movies Black Beauty and the huge monster movie Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). In 2022, he starred in the Nigerian fantasy film Aníkúlápó.

Hakeem Kae-Kazim is known for his amazing voice. He has done a lot of voice acting for video games. His voice can be heard in popular games like Final Fantasy XIV, Halo 3 ODST, Halo: Reach, and Guild Wars. He has said that voice-over work is "a lot of fun" and something he really enjoys.
