Today, Amaral works as a coach. He helps young players at a Japanese international high school. He coaches the Under-18 (U-18) team at the Gyosei International School.
Amaral is often called the "King of Tokyo." This nickname shows how important he was to FC Tokyo, a famous Japanese football club. He is seen as one of the greatest players in the club's history. This includes the time when the club was known as Tokyo Gas SC.

He played for Tokyo Gas from 1992 to 1998. During these years, he scored 111 goals in 165 league games. This helped the team become very strong.
In 1999, Tokyo Gas became FC Tokyo and joined the J2 League. Amaral continued to be a top scorer. He helped the team move up to the J1 League in 2000. He stayed with FC Tokyo until 2003. Overall, he scored 165 goals in 292 league games for the club.
Later Career
