Wagner Pereira Cardozo, known to many as Amaral, is a former Brazilian football player. He was born on October 16, 1966, in São Paulo, Brazil. Amaral played as a forward, scoring many goals throughout his career.

Today, Amaral works as a coach. He helps young players at a Japanese international high school. He coaches the Under-18 (U-18) team at the Gyosei International School.

Amaral is often called the "King of Tokyo." This nickname shows how important he was to FC Tokyo, a famous Japanese football club. He is seen as one of the greatest players in the club's history. This includes the time when the club was known as Tokyo Gas SC.

He played in 332 games for FC Tokyo and Tokyo Gas FC. In 2008, a movie about him was released. It was called King of Tokyo: O Filme. Fans of FC Tokyo still show a huge flag with his face on it during games. This shows how much they admire him.

In 1999, Tokyo Gas became FC Tokyo and joined the J2 League. Amaral continued to be a top scorer. He helped the team move up to the J1 League in 2000. He stayed with FC Tokyo until 2003. Overall, he scored 165 goals in 292 league games for the club.

Later Career

After leaving FC Tokyo, Amaral played for other Japanese teams. He played for Shonan Bellmare in 2004. He then moved to Arte Takasaki (formerly FC Horikoshi) from 2005 to 2007. His last club was FC Kariya in 2009.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, Amaral started coaching. He has coached several teams in Japan. He even coached some of the teams he played for, like Arte Takasaki and FC Kariya. Today, he focuses on coaching young players. He helps them develop their skills at the Gyosei International School.
