Amir Abedini (born Hassan Abedini on December 13, 1949) is an important person from Iran. He has been a politician, a leader of football clubs, and a former professional football player. He also served as a member of the City Council of Tehran.

Political Roles
Amir Abedini has held several important jobs in the government. He was a governor for different parts of Iran. A governor is like a leader for a specific region or province.
Serving as Governor
During the 1980s, Mr. Abedini was the governor of three different provinces. These were Lorestan province, East Azerbaijan province, and Khorasan province. He worked under the government led by Mir-Hossein Mousavi. Mr. Abedini's political ideas were similar to those of Mir-Hossein Mousavi. In 1997, he supported Ali Akbar Nategh-Nouri when he was running for president.
City Council Member
Later, Amir Abedini became a member of the Islamic City Council of Tehran. He served on the council from September 28, 1999, to January 15, 2003. This role meant he helped make decisions for the city of Tehran.
Football Journey
Besides his political work, Amir Abedini also had a strong connection to football. He was both a player and a leader in the sport.

In the 1960s, Amir Abedini played professional football. He was a player for two well-known teams: Persepolis and Paykan.
Leading Football Clubs
After his playing career, Mr. Abedini took on leadership roles in football. He was the chairman of the Persepolis Athletic and Cultural Club for many years, from 1993 to 2000. He also led other football clubs, including Damash Iranian and Damash Gilan. As a chairman, he helped manage and guide these teams.
