Amleto facts for kids
Amleto is an Italian opera. An opera is like a play where all the words are sung instead of spoken. This opera has four acts, which are like different parts or chapters of the story. The music was written by Franco Faccio, and the words, called the libretto, were written by Arrigo Boito. The story of Amleto comes from William Shakespeare's famous play Hamlet.
The opera was first performed in Genoa, Italy, on May 30, 1865. Later, a changed version was shown in Milan, Italy, on February 12, 1871. More recently, it was performed again in 2014 in Baltimore, USA, and also in 2016 at the Bregenzer Festspiele, a big music festival.
