Ammanuel Gorfu Diressa, born on May 5, 1993, is a professional basketball player from Canada. He plays for the Scarborough Shooting Stars in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Ammanuel also plays for the Canadian national team in games around the world. He played college basketball for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles and the Ryerson Rams (now part of Toronto Metropolitan University).

Early Life and High School Basketball
Ammanuel Diressa was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His mother, Almaz Diressa, raised him. He went to Eastern Commerce Collegiate Institute in Toronto.
During his final year of high school, Ammanuel was a star player. He scored about 17 points per game. He also grabbed nearly 9 rebounds and made over 4 assists per game. He helped his high school team win the South Region championship. They also won the Toronto championship with an impressive record of 37 wins and only 7 losses.
College Basketball Career
Ammanuel Diressa played college basketball for two different universities. He started at Tennessee Tech before moving to Ryerson.
Playing for Tennessee Tech
Diressa played his first two years of college basketball for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. This team is part of the Ohio Valley Conference in NCAA Division I.

Playing in Serbia
On August 1, 2018, Diressa signed a three-year contract. He joined the Serbian team FMP. He played with them until February 2019.
Playing for Hamilton Honey Badgers
In 2020, Diressa returned to Canada. He signed with the Hamilton Honey Badgers. This team is part of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Playing for Scarborough Shooting Stars

National Team Career
