Ammanuel Gorfu Diressa (born May 5, 1993) is a Canadian professional basketball player. He plays for the Scarborough Shooting Stars in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Ammanuel also plays for the Canadian national team. He played college basketball for Tennessee Tech and Ryerson Rams (now Toronto Metropolitan University).

Early Life and High School Basketball
Ammanuel Diressa was born in Toronto, Ontario. He went to Eastern Commerce Collegiate Institute in Toronto. In his final year, he was a star player. He scored about 17 points per game. He also grabbed almost 9 rebounds and made over 4 assists per game. Ammanuel helped his high school team win the South Region championship. They also won the Toronto championship. Their team had an amazing record of 37 wins and only 7 losses.
College Basketball Journey
Ammanuel played college basketball at two different universities.
Playing for Tennessee Tech
From 2012 to 2014, Diressa played for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. This team is part of the top division of college basketball, NCAA Division I. In his first year (2012–13), he scored about 1.8 points per game. In his second year (2013–14), he averaged 1.9 points per game.
Success with Ryerson Rams
In 2015, Diressa joined the Ryerson Rams team. This team is part of U Sports in Canada.

Ammanuel had a very successful time at Ryerson. He won medals in the OUA championships. He won gold in 2016 and 2017, and silver in 2018. He also won medals in the U Sports championships. He won silver in 2017 and 2018, and bronze in 2016. He became only the 10th player in Rams history to score over 1,000 career points. He reached 1,002 points in just three seasons.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Ammanuel began his professional career.
Playing in Serbia
On August 1, 2018, Diressa signed a three-year contract. He joined the Serbian team FMP. He played with them until February 2019.
Hamilton Honey Badgers
In 2020, Ammanuel joined the Hamilton Honey Badgers. This team is part of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Scarborough Shooting Stars
In 2024, Diressa signed with the Scarborough Shooting Stars. This is another team in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Playing for Team Canada
Ammanuel Diressa has also played for the Canadian national basketball team.
