Amos Roberts, born on November 2, 1980, is a former professional rugby league player from Australia. He was known for scoring many tries. Amos Roberts' Rugby League Journey
Playing in Australia's NRL
Amos Roberts started his NRL career in 2000 with the St. George Illawarra Dragons. In his very first game, he scored an amazing 22 points. This was a record for points scored by a player in their first NRL match.
In 2004, he joined the Penrith Panthers. That year was fantastic for him, as he scored 23 tries in 23 games. This made him the top try-scorer in the entire competition for that season.
He then moved to the Sydney Roosters in 2005. He continued to be a strong player, scoring 17 tries in 2005 and 18 tries in 2006. In 2007, he faced a knee injury but returned to play later in the season.
In October 2008, Amos left the Roosters to join an English team.
Playing for Wigan Warriors
Amos Roberts moved to England in 2009 to play for the Wigan Warriors in the Super League. In 2010, he was playing incredibly well. He scored in almost every game he played, including three tries in one match against Castleford Tigers. His great performances helped Wigan reach the top of the Super League.
During a game in 2010, Amos injured his knee again while scoring a try. He worked hard to recover and played again, but it was tough for him to get back to his best form. In 2011, he played only a few games for Wigan.
On May 12, 2012, Amos Roberts announced that he was retiring from rugby league. This decision came after he tried many times to recover from his knee injury and other problems. His last game was almost a year before his retirement announcement.
