During a game in 2010, Amos injured his knee again while scoring a try. He worked hard to recover and played again, but it was tough for him to get back to his best form. In 2011, he played only a few games for Wigan.

On May 12, 2012, Amos Roberts announced that he was retiring from rugby league. This decision came after he tried many times to recover from his knee injury and other problems. His last game was almost a year before his retirement announcement.
