Amos Roberts: A Rugby League Star
Starting His NRL Journey
Amos Roberts started his professional rugby league career in 2000. His first team was the St. George Illawarra Dragons. In his very first game, he scored an amazing 22 points. This was a record for points scored on a debut in the National Rugby League.
In 2004, Amos joined the Penrith Panthers. This was a fantastic year for him. He scored 23 tries in 23 games. This made him the top try scorer in the competition that year. After that, he moved to the Sydney Roosters in 2005. He continued to score many tries for them. He scored 17 tries in 2005 and 18 tries in 2006.
Amos faced a knee injury in 2007. He worked hard to return to the field. He kept playing for the Roosters until 2008.
Playing in England: The Wigan Warriors
In October 2008, Amos Roberts decided to move to England. He signed a four-year deal with the Wigan Warriors. This team plays in the Super League. In 2010, Amos was playing incredibly well. He scored in almost all of his games for Wigan. He even scored three tries in one game against Castleford Tigers. His great playing helped Wigan reach the top of the Super League.
