Ampuero is a cool town, or "municipality," found in the beautiful region of Cantabria, Spain. It's surrounded by other towns like Limpias, Liendo, and Guriezo. Ampuero is super important because it's right in the middle of the Asón-Agüera area. This means it's a hub for services and has some industrial spots nearby.
The town is also a great place for outdoor fun! You can go fishing for trout and salmon, which means the local food is amazing. Ampuero is also famous for its "Virgen Niña" festivities, which are big celebrations with exciting encierros (running of the bulls). These events are so popular they're considered a regional tourist attraction!
Ampuero covers an area of about 32.3 square kilometers. It's located about 55 kilometers away from Santander, the capital city of Cantabria. In 2018, about 4,219 people lived in Ampuero.
