Amy's Career Journey
Helping Others with Engineering
Amy Corbett has always been interested in helping people. In 2008, she spent three months in Botswana. She helped a group called a non-government organization (NGO). They worked together to create projects that would help people in a lasting way.
Later, in 2011, Amy helped coffee farmers. She worked with a group called Engineers Without Borders (UK). Her job was to help the farmers learn how to process their own coffee crops. This helped them make more money from their hard work.
Designing at Lego
Amy started working at The Lego Group in 2012. As a design manager, she helps create brand new Lego products. She was part of the team that launched the popular Lego Friends line. This was a big project that started right when she joined Lego.
She also worked on the fun Lego Disney line. Amy was even part of the team that came up with ideas for the 2018 movie The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. One of her recent projects with her design team is Lego DOTS. This line lets you customize everyday items like jewelry and picture frames using small Lego tiles.
Becoming a "Brickmaster"
In 2020, Amy became a judge on the American TV show Lego Masters. On the show, she is known as "Brickmaster Amy." Teams compete to build amazing Lego creations. She helps decide which teams have the best and most creative projects.
In 2022, Amy also joined the British version of Lego Masters. She was a judge for a special Christmas episode. She continues to inspire builders with her knowledge of Lego.
